Claremont has had a celebrated career in comics thanks to his time at Marvel where he wrote issues of Uncanny X-Men from 1975-1991. Credited with developing strong female characters and interweaving literary themes into comics, Claremont is a legend in the comic world and was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 2015. He also holds the record for best-selling comic book of all time for his work on X-Men #1.

Claremont began his career in comics at Marvel Comics as an editorial assistant. His first assignment was working on Daredevil. Since then, Claremont has gone on to write some extremely important X-Men stories including, The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. He has co-created fan favorite characters such as Rogue, Gambit, Shadowcat, Mystique, Sabertooth and many more. After working for Marvel, he wrote for series published by Dark Horse, Image and DC Comics. Most recently, Claremont delved back into the X-Men universe by writing a five issue Gambit miniseries.
